This condition is the commonest surgical disorder of the stomach during infancy. It’s more common in boys and may be a familial condition. The exact cause for it is not properly understood yet but it is not a congenital disorder as the name suggests, hence it’s a misnomer. If not detected at an earlier stage, this can lead to malnutrition, dehydration and constipation as well in the child. Hence knowledge about this condition can help in the early detection and elimination.
